Compost Alphabet

Compost Alphabet dWhile at Norwich University of the Arts I designed a usable font alphabet based on items that you would put on the compost heap. There was a very tight timescale – and 26 letters to complete – so inevitably some were better than others. I also learnt from each letter I completed, but didn’t have time to go back and re-do many letters. I’ve set myself the task I re-working any letter I am less than satisfied with over the coming months. With the greater timescale I have the advantage of having more fruit and vegetables in season from which to choose. In the meantime, here is letter “d”, the core and peel of a conference pear. I did this letter after executing the letter “n” below, and found a better way, I think, of representing the core. William pears are back in season, so this will be one of the letters I shall be doing again in the near future.
